Here is what should happen:
1. Make an appointment with me to hold your ceremony
2. Go to the courthouse and pick up a marriage license
3. Plan your venue (your home, office, hotel, church, restaurant, park, etc.)
4. Select, customize or write your own ceremony
5. Prepare for your wedding day!
It is just that simple! I will file your necessary paperwork after the ceremony and you pick up certified copies within 5 days of mailing. Generally, this can be accomplished on the very same day if you meet me in Virginia or D.C.courthouses (weekends are excluded). If you live out of town and you would like to be married in the District of Columbia, I will apply and pick up your license for you. There is a fee of $125 for this service. This is due to the length of time it takes to travel to the Courthouse, parking in a garage, and paying for the service. Additionally, I will have to go back and pick up the license. Please call for more information.
I have also officiated an entire ceremony in Spanish and English.
"I just wanted to say thank you for performing our ceremony (in English and Spanish) on October 1, 2011, at Foxchase Manor. The ceremony had a more relaxed vibe that suited our personalities." Mr. and Mrs. Jandres
